SENIOR PASTORS – Rod & Viv Plummer
Our senior Pastors, Ps Rod and Viv Plummer, are true pioneers with a passion to reach all people with God’s message. Not only do they pastor all of our Lifehouse Churches across Japan and beyond, but they have also pastored for many years in Australia, and have overseen and led multiple church-planting projects in several other nations such as Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia.
In response to God’s call, Ps. Rod and Viv, along with their two sons, left a large thriving church in Toowoomba, Australia to plant a new church in Tokyo, Japan.
Our pastors’ hearts are to inspire, mentor, and equip hundreds of young Japanese and foreign leaders to minister to the needs of people not only in the greater Tokyo area, but throughout Japan and beyond.
Ps Rod is truly known as a “training pastor”, having raised up and discipled hundreds of young people to serve in all areas of ministry.
Our pastors are the true embodiment of what it means to “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19 NIV).
LEAD PASTORS – Lewis & Ayami Rice
Lewis & Ayami Rice (yup, you read it right haha) have been married for 5 years now. They have both been a part of Lifehouse church for close to 8 years. Lewis moved to Japan at the age of 18, prompted by a vision he saw at age 13 of God moving powerfully in Japan and immediately found his home at Lifehouse Tokyo. Ayami, also around the same time, visited church for the very first time in her life at Lifehouse Tokyo after being invited by a friend. She soon made a decision to follow Jesus and has never looked back. A year or two after that the two fell in love (Ayami took a bit of convincing) and now together are both passionate about seeing Gods kingdom expand in Japan.
Lewis currently serves on staff at Lifehouse Tokyo as the youth & young adults pastor, and also helps oversee our Saitama and Kichijoji campuses. Ayami is a full time preschool teacher who serves the church in a volunteer capacity in multiple roles including leading worship. Lewis’ greatest passion is seeing young Japanese men rise up to be leaders in the church and in life. Ayami’s greatest desire is to see Japanese girls realise their true value and potential in God.
In March of 2015 God started to place the city of Hiroshima on Lewis and Ayami’s heart. They then shared their desire to go see the city which Lifehouse Senior pastors, Rod and Viv Plummer. After visiting the city in May, they instantly fell in love with the city and the people. While there, God also strongly confirmed their sense of calling. This, along with the heart felt approval of Ps Rod and Viv, meant that it was decided they would be sent to plant Lifehouse Hiroshima in 2016.
